Meet the Author: Monica Tesler

Monica TeslerMonica Tesler works as an attorney and lives south of Boston with her family. She can often be found hiking or biking with her boys, writing on the commuter boat, or trying to catch a quiet moment for meditation.

Monica’s debut middle grade novel, BOUNDERS (Simon & Schuster/Aladdin, Early 2016), is the first book in a science fiction series about the Earth Force academy for quantum space travel and its inaugural class of cadets. This group of neurodiverse kids always felt different, but never suspected they held the key to saving the galaxy from an alien threat kept secret since before they were born.

Fun facts:

  • Favorite book growing up: A WRINKLE IN TIME by Madeline L’Engle
  • Favorite time of day/place to write: On the commuter boat
  • Book currently reading/most recently read: THE UNWANTEDS by Lisa McMann
  • Favorite things to do (other than reading): hiking, biking, yoga, playing with her kids
  • Surprising personal fact: She was once an intern at America’s Most Wanted
